Welcome to St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School admissions page. We look forward to assisting you with your child’s enrolment at our School.
Enrolment Procedures – Australian Citizens, Temporary and Permanent Residents
To apply for a place at St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School, please complete an enrolment application form which can be requested from our Admissions staff or downloaded from the icon below. The School is an open entry school, however, an enrolment application for admission does not guarantee a place at the School. Places may be limited at various levels and we therefore encourage parents to begin their child’s enrolment application at our School as early as possible.
When submitting an enrolment application, please provide:
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate
- A copy of your child’s last school report (if applicable)
- Non-refundable $100 Application Fee (see Fee Structure)
- A copy of your child’s * immunisation history statement issued by Medicare (for applications to ELC – Year 6)
- If your child is applying as a Temporary Resident or Permanent Resident, please provide a copy of their visa grant notice and passport
- For students with English as an additional language applying for entry to Year 5 and above, AEAS test results (which are no more than 12 months old) are required aeas.com.au
Students entering 3 year old ELC must be 3 years of age by 26 January in the year of entry; entering 4 year old must be 4 years of age by 30 April in the year of entry; and Prep must be 5 years of age by 30 April in the year of entry.
(* Immunisation) St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School adheres to the Victorian Government’s No Jab No Play legislation. Children starting in the ELC must be fully immunised and a copy of your child’s Immunisation History Statement is required. For children commencing in Prep – Year 6, an Immunisation History Statement is required, however there is currently no requirement to show your child is up-to-date with all immunisations. For more information visit www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/campaigns/no-jab-no-play
Once we have received your completed enrolment application, we will acknowledge your child’s enrolment status by email and add your child’s application to the waitlist for the nominated year level of entry according to the date received. Priority is given to siblings of current students and children and grandchildren of St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School alumni.
Offers of place:
Once a place becomes available, you will be issued with an enrolment questionnaire and a request for most recent school reports to ensure the School has the most updated information available to them to support your child’s education. Following return of the questionnaire and reports, you and your child will be invited to attend an interview with the Principal, Head of School or designated staff member.
Following completion of the interview and if an offer is made, you will have one month to accept or decline the offer. To accept the offer, parents should return the fully completed and signed Acceptance of Offer, payment authority to pay Enrolment Confirmation fees as per the fee structure document and other documents accompanying the offer. Once payment and documentation has been received and processed, you will receive an email confirming your child’s enrolment status at St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School. Please refer to the Fee Structure documentation for all fees, terms and conditions of enrolment.
