Student Leadership at BGS

“Becoming a leader is synonymous with becoming yourself. It is precisely that simple and it is also that difficult.” – Warren Bennis

This week we were delighted to launch the student leadership program for 2020.This is a very important part of the annual calendar, when our Year 12 students begin to focus on the end of their VCE journey, and the current Year 11 cohort prepares to enact their vision for the school.

This week, Ms Cook introduces the process to the Year 11 students, who are invited to submit their applications and CVs as of Monday 29 July.  School Captains and House Captains will be selected first in a process that prioritizes student voice and the students right to choose their representatives.

Following this, we will seek to appoint the following positions:

Year 12 Captain
SRC Captain
Art Design & Media Captain
Enrichment Captain
Environment Captain
Performing Arts Captain
Sport Captain
HPV Captain
Duke of Edinburgh Captain
Equestrian Captain

At Berwick Grammar School, we understand that leadership is a journal and a skill that can be developed and honed.  All leaders selected will undertake a special leadership program that aims to hone these skills over their final year of schooling and help them develop their own special skills and talents.

All students are encouraged to apply and to refer to the leadership handbook for more information.  Queries about the process can be directed to Ms Cook on cookl@berwickgrammar.vic.edu.au
