Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize

Following his earlier success in the Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize, Berwick Grammar School student, Max Walton Briggs, was invited to participate in the group interview stage of this competition on Tuesday 4 December. This event was appropriately held at the Shrine of Remembrance.

This required Max to undertake a variety of challenges aimed at testing his ability to actively listen and cooperate meaningfully in a group setting. Here he also presented his personal academic portfolio to demonstrate what he had learned this year.

Aspects of this day were quite fun and informal; however, students were given the serious task of defending their work in a small group interview. They also had to participate in group discussions and activities to demonstrate their ability to work collaboratively.

This round of the competition will ultimately determine if Max proceeds further in the competition, and consequently whether he will be awarded a study tour of Canberra or Vietnam.

We wish Max the best of luck as he awaits the results from this day. In any case, we are immensely proud that he has made it this far, and wish him and all our other students the best of luck for next year.
