JAZZ CABARET NIGHT

During the last week of term, the Music Department put together a wonderful night of Jazz music, featuring the Big Band, Vocal Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, Vocal Soloists and the VCE Class Ensemble. Over 120 parents and friends brought along their hampers , sat back and enjoyed the incredible musical talents of the boys. The main vocalists: Connor Boothman, Pavan Mallawarachchi, Ned Matin, Ben Scarborough, Trent Mitchell, Munir Kamil and Jesse Busacca entertained the crowd with hits such as It’s Not Unusual, Whisper Your Name and more. The musicians in the VCE ensembles presented their own jazzed up version of How Deep Is Your Love by the Bee Gees, and the Guitar Ensemble which included Dylan Girotto, Sean Dack and Connor Boothman, amazed the audience with their renditions of Mediterranean Sundance and Tri County Barn Dance.

Thanks to Mr Mark Mason (Head of Bands), Mrs Prudence Findlay (Vocal Teacher) and Malcom Huddle (Woodwind Teacher) for all their hard-work in preparing the boys. A special mention goes to Jack Murray for his help on the night, and also the Friends of Performing Arts for their work with the raffles and selling of drinks. Finally, congratulations to all those who performed on the night!
