Haircuts to support cancer!

The St Margaret’s Social Service Committee had their first fundraiser for the year at the Twilight Fair. We had nine very brave students from the Senior School who volunteered to have their pony tails cut off in front of a live audience. The students Natasha Robinson, Lani Li, Paige Nguyen, Isha Ali, Jayarupi Pahala-Vithar, Zara Snelling, Charlotte Curtis, Thusini De Silva and Lucy Radcliffe all had 30 centimetres of their lovely locks cut and given to professional wigmakers, Louis Barnett and Son. The donated hair will be made into wigs for people who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment. In addition to the mass haircut, the students raised funds that will be donated to the Peter MacCallum Centre and to Ronald McDonald House. A special thanks must go to Natasha Robinson for her organisation of the event and to Mrs Kim Sanders from the Music Department who kindly tidied up the student’s hair after their dramatic cut. A sincere thank you to all for your contributions.
