Big Bash

On Wednesday 23 March the BGS PE Department ran the ‘Big Bash’. A Cricket event where parents came down to join us at the school to take part in some fun events and games with their son. The weather didn’t disappoint and we were treated to a fantastic afternoon of sunshine.

The Big Bash Skills Challenge was run again this year prior to the Cricket matches. This was two separate fun competitions one for the students and one for the adults. Bowling, throwing and catching skills were tested with a series of fun challenges, with prizes for our top three scoring students and our top three parents. Once the skills challenge finished then it was on to the ‘Big Bash’ matches. We had two games running with each student/parent pair batting for 3 overs within their batting team and scoring as many runs as possible for their team. Once every pair in the team had batted a total score was a given. After a break for Tea, which consisted of a sausage sizzle and a drink we were back in action for the second innings.

A great afternoon of Cricket was had by all and I would like to thank all the students and parents that came down and supported the event and also Chris Kelly and the Berwick Grammar School Foundation.
