Unit 3 Food Studies students were privileged to recently have the expertise of Fiona Hammond who spoke to the class about the patterns of eating in Australia and the influences on the food we eat. Fiona is a recipe developer, recipe tester, food stylist and author with over 20 years’ experience in the food industry. Her work has been featured in Australia’s prominent food magazines, The Age, numerous cookbooks, advertising campaigns, food packaging and social media. In their studies, the students inquire into the role of media and technology and how food may link to psychological factors. Fiona’s workshops provided the students with firsthand knowledge and practical experience on the trends evolving in the food industry and the guiding influences.
