COVID-19 Update 17 July 2021

After receiving the news today that a staff member at the school has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19, we have been focused on working with the DHHS to follow required reporting and management protocols as well as informing our students, families, staff and users of the school facilities of the news, as well as the next steps.

The physical school will be closed until further notice. We do however plan to continue to provide online/distance learning on Monday for all areas of the school, with the exception of the Early Learning Centre which will be closed.

All senior school students and staff, who attended our Berwick campus on the 14th and 15th of July 2021, have been asked to get tested and to isolate until they receive a negative test. DHHS encourages anyone with any concerns to get tested.

Students and staff of close contacts will be contacted directly by DHHS and will be asked to quarantine for 14 days.

Our thoughts are with our entire community and particularly with our staff member.

As this issue continues to evolve, we will provide further information directly to our community as well as through the school website.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact principal@smbg.vic.edu.au.
