ELC and Junior School Information

Parents and students of ELC and Junior School are encouraged to log in to Seesaw each morning from 8.30 am as there will be a message to the students about the day ahead from their classroom teacher.

Junior School teachers will do a live check-in, morning and afternoon. In the younger classes, this will take place with smaller groups of students at a time. These times will be co-ordinated so that families with more than one child in the school do not need to be online at exactly the same time. This information will be conveyed by the classroom teacher via Seesaw.

Each day, the children in JS will receive English, Maths, a Unit of Enquiry and another learning activity e.g. Resilience Project activity to complete. The teachers will deliver a message each day for what is planned ahead either in writing or via video. Specialist teachers will also post activities and experiences for the students to do. The Learning Diversity staff may also make contact with their student(s) during the week. Those students who receive EAL (English as an Additional Language) classes will also hear from Ms Tan.

VCE Provision

Updates will be provided on developments with the VCE and the ATAR. We understand that the Victorian Government is determined to continue with the VCE qualifications and examinations and that there will be flexibility around the way that some of the internal coursework can be assessed. For this reason, it is imperative therefore that the School and all VCE students make a full commitment to the virtual classroom program, should it continue. We are determined to ensure that our students face minimal interruption from their core education.

Online Safety for Children

With increasing use of online teaching and online resources, it is timely to remind our community of the importance of monitoring and guiding our children in an online space. Please see the following communication from Julie Inman Grant, the Government eSafety Commissioner regarding e-safety. https://www.esafety.gov.au/key-issues/covid-19/letter-parents-carers

IT Support

The School can also be accessed to collect materials and to receive IT support. Please make an appointment with the school before arriving on campus.
