Year 10 Camp

Students in Year 10 recently took part in a leadership and self-development program, hearing from a range of presenters and taking part in a variety of activities.

The boys listened to Zach Merrett, Vice-Captain of the Essendon Football Club, Shane Garner, an industry leader in personal development and Xavier Diaz, an expert in the dangers associated with young men and alcohol.

As part of the growing good men project, the program provided for discussion of future aspirations, the challenges associated with adolescence, what it takes to make it as a professional sports person and the idea of personal branding.

Over the course of the three days, there was a focus on making good choices. The boys were asked to think about the ways in which young men can leave a positive first impression on someone they are meeting for the first time. The boys will now use skills they acquired on camp in the mentoring program with the Year 7 students.
