Learning Enhancement

Learning Enhancement this year has seen students demonstrating many of the attributes of the IB learner profile. They have been thinkers by discussing reading strategies, ways to record numbers using expanded notation and finding patterns in spelling. Students have been risk takers by undertaking new and exciting tasks in a new learning environment, as well as being reflective about their learning styles and individual goals.

The photograph shows our Year 5 students displaying the PYP attitudes of creativity and confidence, whilst creating posters to portray character traits in the story, Amelia Ellicott’s Garden. The students also developed their understanding of adjectives, their skills in using a thesaurus and they all made connections with the world and their own life experiences. A truly transdisciplinary activity that developed knowledge, concepts and skills.
