House Aths Carnival

Fortune favours the brave and with that in mind the latest edition of the BGS House Athletics went ahead on Wednesday July 24th. The cool weather conditions didn’t stop the old rivalries from heating up. A resurgent Forsyth House was looking at building on their good form from the Cross Country where they narrowly missed winning to try and claim their first cup for the year. Battye was looking to make amends for their previous performance at Cross Country and regain respect. Richards was wanting a win and put a commanding hold on the overall House Shield.

Throughout the day many students performed personal bests. Each House had Year Level Champions. The final race of the day was a Medley Relay which saw the Year Twelves compete for the last time in a House Sporting Competition. With only a few points separating 1st and 2nd it was coming down to the Senior Boys in Richards House to bring home victory. They managed to hold off a storming Forsyth Relay team to cross the line first and claim the House Athletics Cup.

The final results were Richards first, Battye second and Forsyth third. A massive thank you to all the students who competed and the staff who help supervise the stations.
