HIGH ACHIEVERS’ ASSEMBLY

History is the study of the past, and it teaches us that there is so much to learn from those who have come before us.

This is the theme of our second annual High Achiever’s Assembly at Berwick Grammar School.  This year, our three top-ranked students returned to give advice and share their stories with the younger members of our community.  All were captains in 2017, returning to the podium for one final time.

Kash Gaitely, Yun Zou and Sean Dack all had messages about hard work, passion and dedication, but also about the value of being broad balanced individuals.  The things we do outside the classroom – music, sport, debating and more – give us the confidence and the life skills to achieve success. All three of these young men are attending Monash University this year, studying Engineering and Biomedicine.

In addition, Dylan Girotto took to the stage one last time to play ‘Body and Soul’.  Dylan’s wonderful achievement of being selected for Top Acts is the result of many hours of dedication and practicing his craft.  His success – being accepted into Melbourne University – reminds us of the power of love – how you have to love what you do to be truly great at it.

The young men were sent off with a rousing round of applause and were welcomed back to the school any time by our current School Captains, Aidan Ferriera and Will Morgan.
