Head of Campus Update – 27 July 2017

Welcome to Semester 2.

Over the June / July holidays we had a significant number of students involved in a variety of school activities, many of which were joint activities with students and staff from Berwick Grammar. These included the Year 10 Presentation Ball, the Year 9 trip to Oodnadatta and the VCE French immersion camp at Maison de St Clair in Byron Bay. This term we welcomed exchange students from Queen Margaret School in York; Mimi Milligan, Poppy Wood and Georgina Comerford. We are also pleased to see the return of teachers Ms Sarah Bowes (from maternity leave) and Mr Ross Rafferty Brown (from Long service Leave) along with Year 10 student Josie Arnold who has spent the last year on exchange in France.

Congratulations to our Learning Diversity teacher Grace Kamuyu who was recently awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education by Monash University. Dr Kamuyu plans to use her research and knowledge in her teaching and hopes it makes a positive impact on the students.

We are looking forward to the Ladies Afternoon Tea on 11 Aug and invite mums and daughters to attend together. The $15.00 entry fee will go towards supporting women through both World Vision and Birthing Kits Australia.

The School Concerts will be held on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 August 2017 in the Rosanove Auditorium.  All students in Year 7 to 12 are required to attend – students in Year 8, 9 and 11 will perform on 24 August and Year 7, 8, 10 and 12 perform on 25 August. Each student will be allocated a seat (except performers who will be supervised backstage). Students who are performing are required to attend both concerts.
