Head of Campus Update – 26 July 2016

Welcome back to a new semester.

Over the holidays we had a significant number of students involved in co-curricular activities, many of which were joint activities with students and staff from Berwick Grammar School. These included the Year 10 Presentation Ball, the Year 9 trip to Oodnadatta and the VCE French immersion camp in the City. We also welcomed exchange students from Queen Margaret School in York; Mimi Browne and Madeleine Graves, and exchange students from St Margaret’s School in Aberdeen; Catherine Ross and Jessica Maciver.

The holidays also gave our builders an opportunity to make great progress on the refurbishment of Rooms 17, 18 and 19. The rooms are looking fantastic – fresh, clean and inviting. We expect to reopen very soon.

On Friday 15 July, we enjoyed another Christmas in July. Participants enjoyed the Christmas festivities which included sparkling Christmas decorations, fantastic food and beautiful music. Thanks to Christine Cochrane and members of the performing arts department and VSPA for their work in making this an evening to remember.

The 90 Anniversary School Concerts will be held on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 August 2016 in the Rosanove Auditorium. This year’s concerts focus on the 90 years of history of St Margaret’s School – celebrated through music and song. All students in year 7 to 12 are required to attend – students in Year 8, 9 and 11 will perform on 11 August and Years 7, 8, 10 and 12 perform on 12 August. Each student will be allocated a seat (except performers who will be supervised backstage). Students who are performing are required to attend both concerts. Tickets to the concerts are now available through the Trybooking link on the school’s website and selling fast. Secure your seats now!
