GSV Update – Term 1 2017

The GSV Triathlon was held on Sunday 12 February at the Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham. Despite a very early start and some adverse weather to begin with the girls showed great enthusiasm and were excited to be part of a 700+ strong contingent of competitors from the 24 GSV schools. SMS had 15 girls involved, many of who had been on camp in the week leading up to the event. There were some outstanding efforts by our girls on the day and St Margaret’s crossed the line first in two of the three individual categories with Olivia Weston of Year 12 taking gold in the senior individual race and Jessica Day of Year 9 taking gold in the intermediate individual race.

Congratulations to all girls involved: Olivia Weston, Sarah Arnett, Jessica Day, Adele Hanley, Sienna Chandler, Makenzie Betts, Lauren Castricum, Erin Thomas, Alisa Johnson, Imogen Turecek, Olivia Dowling, Sophie Castricum, Ashlee Duhau, Tahli Chandler and Matisse Menard.

On Thursday 16 February the elected St Margaret’s Sports Captains attended the GSV Sports Leaders Breakfast at Korowa Anglican Girls School. The event was an opportunity to network with sports leaders from each of the 24 GSV schools as well as participate in a workshop lead by former Australian softball captain and 3-time Olympic medallist Natalie Titcume who was an engaging and inspiring speaker.
