Geography Fieldtrip

The Year 10 students braved the blustery conditions at Hampton Beach on Friday 18 August to complete the fieldwork component of their Geography studies. The classes have been studying Environmental Change and Management with a focus on the impacts that humans can have on coastal environments. Using their fieldwork skills, students investigated the impact of breakwaters, sea walls and other human structures on Hampton Beach and evaluated the effectiveness of management strategies employed to protect both the natural and human features in the region. With only one fieldwork sheet carried away by the wind, the day provided the girls with an opportunity to see some amazing natural processes in full swing.
