Geography Excursion

Four Year 11 Geography students, David Charman, Mason Bursill, Max Walton Briggs and Matthew Kent undertook a fieldwork trip to the Dandenong Ranges to study the impacts of the Ash Wednesday Fires of 1983.

The photo of the boys is at the site where the devastating Belgrave and Upper Beaconsfield Fires started in Birds Paddock at South Belgrave. The boys visited various sites including a visit to the Cockatoo Bushfire Education Centre where they were addressed by Graham Simpson the Captain of the Cockatoo Fire Brigade in 1983.
