The Rosanove
Auditorium
Opening
The grand opening of the new 750 seat Rosanove Auditorium took place on
October 15th, 2004. The School's exceptional Orchestra commenced proceedings,
a fitting opening to a wonderful night which showcased the musical and
dramatic talents of our Junior and Senior School students. Guest speaker
and past student, Sylvie de Crespigny inspired us with her memories of
school days in the Memorial Hall and challenged us to enjoy the fantastic
new facility that is now ours. Dr Ronald Rosanove shared some of his own
memories of school, amusing us all with tales of the past and themes that
also seemed very relevant today. One of the key focus points of the evening
was the naming of the new Auditorium. Chair of Council, Ms Anita Forsyth
had the important task of thanking all of those who helped to make the
Auditorium a reality.
Rosanove
Auditorium
Dr Ronald Rosanove has great enthusiasm for education and it is his heartfelt
belief that Schools like St Margaret's can offer the best possible learning
environment to students. Schools where students can truly belong and be
highly involved are of the greatest value to families, believes Dr Rosanove.
Eager to
contribute to the School in many ways, Dr Rosanove has also provided careers
sessions in Medicine and Science to our senior students. His wife, Elisabeth
also plans to address students in the area of Social Work. Dr & Mrs
Rosanove's two daughters are both past students of the School: Helene
and Merrianne finished at St Margaret's in 1978 and 1985 respectively.
Dr Rosanove's
own educational history is extraordinary. Dr Rosanove completed his secondary
studies on a scholarship at Wesley College, graduated from Melbourne University
with Degrees in Science and Medicine, and completed his postgraduate studies
in Dermatology, Economics and Music at New York University and the University
of Minnesota.
Since 1961,
Dr Rosanove has practised Dermatology in Victoria, initially commencing
in Warragul, then two years later expanding to Traralgon and now also
incorporating Berwick and Dandenong.
We are extremely
grateful for Dr Rosanove's continued support of St Margaret's School and
look forward to working on future plans together.
